Ever since we got these guys on the books we’ve been trying to get them into Entertainment Nation HQ to record some acoustic covers for us and now it’s finally here: Wandering Wings in the Entertainment Nation Live Loft! It was a privilege to see these five exceptional musicians in action, and a joy to meet them. We knew they were great performers, but it turns out they’re also thoroughly nice chaps.
The Live Loft is a great way for you to watch our bands perform live and get to know the people behind the performance. During a Live Loft session, our bands visit Entertainment Nation HQ to perform two songs. These are handpicked by the band, one from their repertoire and one free choice. While we’ve got them in the studio, we ask the band a few questions in an informal interview. Here you will get an exclusive insight into the life of a function band and their adventures as one of the UK’s most in-demand bands for weddings, parties and corporate events as they travel up and down the nation. We also put the band’s musical skills to the test as they try to recreate famous song intros while the rest of the band try to guess the song. It sounds like great fun, and trust us, it is – check out our previous Live Lofts on our blog.
Now if you’ve not met Wandering Wings before, let us introduce you. Wandering Wings are one of the UK’s leading folk pop function bands. Specialising in feel-good hits with a folky twist, these young musicians have an extensive repertoire of songs that range from Mumford and Sons-style folk to special acoustic arrangements of pop, rock and soul songs from the 60s to the current charts.
Wandering Wings offer a wide variety of set options from an acoustic duo earlier on in the day, ideal for drinks receptions, to an amplified set for the evenings. Not to mention their fully acoustic roaming set. This is where the band play while strolling amongst your guests – a really nice touch, that creates a unique atmosphere to wow your audience. You can see why they’re so popular!
For their free choice, Wandering Wings performed the smash hit Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran. Their cover was a brilliant, acoustic version of the song that showcased Wandering Wings’ signature style, with beautiful harmonies and skilled sax sequences. Wandering Wings’ second performance featured yet another massive hit, Sorry by Justin Bieber, which comes straight from their jam-packed repertoire. Despite being a huge pop anthem, their unique acoustic-folk style shone through in this cover. Wandering Wings have the ability to rework any song to make it sound like it was written specifically for them, and that’s exactly what they showed us in The Live Loft.
So here it is, Wandering Wings in the Live Loft!
Professional musicians through and through, these guys didn’t disappoint. Thank you so much to Wandering Wings for joining us at HQ. We hope they had as much fun as we did and hope you enjoyed watching it. If you’re on the hunt for a folk-pop band with incredible chemistry, Wandering Wings are ready for your enquiry!
