The Flintlocks In The Spotlight

Last Updated: 5th April 2024

Make your night unforgettable with The Flintlocks! This fiery 4-piece are experts at getting the party started and keeping the dance floor full. With their crowd-pleasing repertoire and charming showmanship, it’s easy to see why they’re one of the top pop and rock wedding bands in the business right now. We had a chat with these Welsh Wonders about their experience as professional performers and what to expect on your big day – read on to find out more!

Who are The Flintlocks?

“Hi there! We’re The Flintlocks, aka Greg – Lead Vocals/Guitar/Keys; Luke – Lead Vocals/Guitar; Trev – Drums/Backing Vocals; and Dai – Bass.”

Give us a wow fact about you!

“The Flintlocks were once the warm up act for Rod Stewart!”

What can a wedding couple/client expect when they book you?

“A highly professional, polished but totally flexible service.”

Do you offer any optional extras? If so, what are they and why should people book them?

“Yes! We offer acoustic duo or solo performances from one or both of our terrific front men Greg and Luke. This type of performance is ideal for the daytime portion of the event and really helps to fill the whole day with a musical vibe.”

Which song is your favourite to perform?

“‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams as it’s great watching the crowd get involved.”

Which is the song you can always rely on to fill the dance floor?

“‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers, always.”

Top requested song?

“‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers again haha”

Top choice for a first dance song?

“‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ by Frankie Valli seems very popular this year, in general though I think ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E. King is the most common choice.”

Favourite sing a long song?

“‘Come on Eileen’ by Dexys Midnight Runners gets the dance floor shaking!”

What inspired you to be musicians?

“Our love of performing and making that our full time job.”

Do you get along with each other all of the time?

“Yes! Unbelievably we never argue and love each other to bits!”

Who has the most annoying habit and what is it?

“Dai can be a bit bossy at times haha.”

What’s the best thing about being musicians?

“Doing what you love for a living!”

… and what’s the worst?

“There honestly isn’t one!”

Most memorable moment of your career as musicians?

“Performing at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff was very special.”

Weirdest moment/thing that’s happened at a wedding/event?

“Our singer was once set upon by an absolutely enormous moth! Luckily no person or animal ended up being harmed in any way haha.”

If you weren’t musicians, what would you be doing?

“Greg loved gymnastics as a child so may well have gone down that route! If Luke wasn’t a singer himself he would likely be a vocal coach. Dai would probably explore his passion for martial arts in one way or another. Trev would likely play or coach hockey.”

Top tip for anyone booking wedding/party entertainment?

“Book the band you want for your day! Guests will always have a great time and the day is for you as a couple to remember above all else.”
